Description:
Perhaps the most famous trek in all of Asia, a trek to Mt. Everest Base Camp in Nepal offers adventure, history, culture, and scenery like nowhere else. We follow the Dudh Kosi River through bamboo and rhododendron forest before rising to the Sherpa capitol of the Khumbu, Namche Bizare. From here we have continuous views of glaciated peaks, including Mt. Everest, Lhotse, and AmaDablam. Our trek differs from the offerings of other companies in three big ways. First, we benefit local communities through this trip. A percentage of our profits are put back into scholarships and village projects that are created and managed by local people. Our staff are treated like family, and we exceed government standards in pay, insurance coverage, and load carrying limits for our porters and guides. Second, we take extra time to acclimatize in order to reduce the likelihood that your trip will be disrupted by illness. Twenty-two days gives us the opportunity to take side-trips that speed our acclimatization process, and includes weather days in the event our flights are delayed flying into or out of Everest Region. And third, we use luxury accommodation before and after our trek to ensure that you are well rested and can communicate with family and friends back home.
